MacArthur Extension to open April 30, 2010.

The MacArthur Extension will be opened to traffic following a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, April 30, 2010. Mayor Davlin is expected to be joined at the event by Senator Dick Durbin, Gary Hannig, Secretary of the Illinois Department of Transportation, other city and state officials, representatives of the firms that have worked on and designed the extension, neighborhood groups and others.

Construction on the two-mile extension of MacArthur Boulevard was started in 2007. Costing $40 million, the new roadway connects MacArthur Boulevard from Wabash to a new interchange at I-72.
