Next week City Water, Light and Power’s tree trimming contractor, Nelson Tree Service, will begin a three-month project to trim trees around power lines in the area bound by Parkview Drive, Cherry Road, Interlacken Drive, and Lincoln Avenue.

Residents and motorists in the area should be alert for crews that may be set up on roadways. In some areas, Nelson crews may need access to power line easements on private property. All tree debris will be removed of and disposed of by the contractor.

This work is a normal phase of CWLP’s tree management program, which is designed to maintain high electric reliability while utilizing conservative strategies for dealing with conflicts between trees and power lines. The trimming methods used by CWLP follow standards set by the National Arborists Association.
