Springfield named 5th best city for next gen workforce

The city of Springfield, Illinois has been ranked number 5 according to Next Generation Consulting's U.S. Next Cities List.

Springfield's affordability (their “Cost of Lifestyle” index) is listed as the most important to the next gen.

This means that our next gen workforce is willing to settle for a just average first (or second or third) job, as long as they can afford to pay their bills in the cities they want to live in.

Springfield ranks number 5 in cities of populations 100,000 to 200,000, beating such cities as Des Moines, Iowa; Peoria, Illinois and Springfield, Missouri who all were in the top 20.
