City Council to meet at 6:00 p.m.

The Springfield City Council will meet on Tuesday evening, April 21, at 6:00 p.m. Aldermen have given their approval to move meetings to 5:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month in order to reduce staff overtime and comp time costs.
The new time will not become effective until the first meeting in May because the time for public consideration of zoning issues had been established as 6:00 p.m. by official legal notification. Therefore the meeting should begin no sooner than 6:00 p.m. to allow for appropriate public comment. Zoning issues are heard at the second City Council meeting of each month, which falls on the third Tuesday.
